Angeles City location
Angeles City is located on the island of Luzon, a large northerly island that covers a huge proportion of the Philippine land mass. It is situated in the province of Pampanga and lies 16km from the provincial capital and only 80km from the Philippine capital of Manila.
Building the city
Due to huge redevelopment and rebuilding of the area following the devastating volcanic eruption of Mount Pinatubo in 1991, Angeles City has been transformed into a highly urbanised conglomeration with more than 300,000 residents.
The Balibago district of Angeles, and in particular the Fields Avenue strip, is the main area for entertainment, whilst the outside centre of the Clark Freeport Zone is the major centre for business, finance, investment and industry.
The country's international airport Diosdado Macapagal International Airport is also located within the Clark Freeport Zone, making Angeles City extremely accessible to visitors from all over the world.
Angeles City climate
Angeles enjoys an all-year-round influx of tourist and business visitors, although its peak season is from November - April.
This is mainly due to the fact that this part of the year is the region's dry season. The temperatures are hot throughout the year with an average of 30°C each month, yet humidity is high in the dry season and rainfall is abundant in the wet season.
